This project is concerned with the development of procedures to design and analyse new-generation foundation and anchor systems for offshore wind turbine support systems at sites where the bedrock is close to the seabed. The project will employ simplified design models - calibrated via detailed 3D finite element analysis - to provide a rapid means of assessing the stiffness and strength of embedded foundations/anchors in rock. Initial work will focus on monotonic loading but the project may also consider cyclic loading effects
