英文摘要
The cross-institutional supervisory team offers exceptional expertise in interdisciplinary practice-as-research in the areas of contemporary curating, performance art practice, critical theory, and interdisciplinary performance writing. In addition, the open lectures offered at the Scottish Centre for Continental Philosophy at UoD will provide a unique context for Calum to expand his research exploring phenomenology through personal experience. In 2019, DJCAD acquisitioned the performance art archive of Alastair MacLennan. This important and unique archive will be Calum's primary context of research and thus DJCAD is the only place where this research can be conducted. This unique collection of one of UK-s and the world most prolific living performance artist comprises over 30,000 slides, photographs, videotapes and digital documentation of more than 600 'actuations' (site-specific durational performances with an installation element) from the 1970s to the present time. The archive will be officially launched to the public next year as a 'living archive' actively used for teaching, research and artistic engagement and therefore Calum's research is timely to support the School's aims with this archive. In addition, the archive's official launch will coincide with the artist's 80th birthday in 2023 and the applicant will be able to connect with the artist and contribute to activities as part of the celebrations.
