英文摘要
"This DPhil research aims to perform a systemic vulnerability assessment of global ports and its interdependent network from flooding by combining a network vulnerability analysis with supply chain impacts. It further aims to develop a modelling platform that can serve as a tool for resilience analysis and assessment of various adaptation options to reduce risk under projections of future flood extremes and socio-economic developments. This research can thus be split in three components: (I) to assess the current and future vulnerabilities of global port infrastructure to impacts from singular/compound flood events (both a serviceability and ultimate limit state perspective), including the spatial cross-correlation between flood events within a regional/continental scale; (II) to quantify the current and future indirect economic damages of disruptions in the global supply chains from singular/compound flood events to ports; (III) to develop and test a range of possible decision/adaptation options within a decision-making framework that aims at increasing the resilience of global port networks and supporting supply chains."
