'Class Act', from Scotland to Russia and Ukraine: cultural identities, social engagement and intercultural dialogue

Class Act (CA) has been the Traverse Theatre's main educational project inScotland since 1990, engaging students to make new creative work. Myproject researches the adoption of CA in Russia (2004) and Ukraine (2016) inorder to compare the three projects' design, values, ethics, and impact infostering cultural identities, intercultural dialogue and freedom of expression.Based on oral history, participant observation, and textual analysis, I willstudy the cultural history, organizational structures and procedures, themotivation of participants, the diversity of texts and outcomes of theprojects, in order to understand the reasons for CA's resilience and success.
