Excellent quality for the proposed research. This original proposal is in a timely and important area of research for museums regarding: the care of bioplastics which is a growing area within collections and their inclusion within educational and outreach activities with the public regarding their life cycle and the cultural heritage of plastics within society. Panagiotis wrote the proposal using his prior experience of plastics and adhesives within museum collections and working as a conservator in museums. The aging and care of plastics has only begun to be studied in the last decade and focusing on bioplastics targets an aspect that is in its infancy. However, as bioplastics are growing in their applications within society this is an aspect that is increasing in importance. The development of guidelines for the care of bioplastics within museums is an important issue. An excellent project in terms of its feasibility using the proposed methodology. The project is feasible within the resources and expertise available at the Open University and the Museum of Design in Plastics (MoDiP) with some minor modifications. The outreach aspects will greatly benefit from the expertise of the OU supervisors in the online engagement of a diverse student cohort. The project could also benefit from the other partners within the OOC DTP because other museums also have many plastic items within their collections.
