The research project focuses on developing new therapies for pancreatic cancer and is therefore focused on highest priority healthcare challenge. Uniquely, as the project is a combination of research and surgery it is expanding the frontiers of physical intervention. Also, through understanding early disease biology the project fits the EPSRC aspiration of optimising disease prediction, prevention, diagnosis and intervention.
