When i was younger, i was always interested in problems such as those where you are required to arrange queens on a chess board such that no queen can take any of the others. During my time in sixth form, i heard about a type of mathematical study relating to this topic. Game theory. This course sounded ideal as it studies more in-depth problems and ideas that i have always loved working with. When i heard about game theory being a 3rd module at my university, i was excited. This was a brilliant module, teaching me many useful ideas. One of my favourites being the study of the game Nim. This module also led me to consider what more i might be able to do with Game theory going forward into life. This project feels like the ideal next step for my love of the Game Theory, as it will allow me to expland my knowledge of the subject even greater. Additionally allowing me to complete high level independent work in a field that i have enjoyed studying before.
