Developing novel scaffold proteins to stabilize and enhance protein-based insecticides

This CASE application is a new collaboration between Plevin, Spicer andSyngenta that builds on previous BBSRC funded research (BB/T012013/1).The student will be largely based in the Plevin group in York. Characterisationof the biophysical properties of resulting protein targets will be conducted withPlevin and will employ relevant biochemical, biophysical and structuraltechniques. The student will spend significant time in the Spicer Lab wherethey will gain expertise in chemical modification of proteins and the use ofnon-native amino acids technologies to modify protein function.
