Bridging cultural geography, visual culture and photographic practice, this project marks a significant shift in the analysis of life and living along postcolonial borders, extending the concept of 'borderscapes' as a visual, sensory practice that can reveal lived experiences and alternative imagined geographies of borderlands. By examining lived experiences along the Line of Control in Indian Administered Jammu & Kashmir through archival, ethnographic, and participatory visual and sensory methods, the project traces the cultural histories stored in the memories, landscapes, and experiences of people marginalised by border-making. It aims to empower participants in narrating their own experiences to wider audiences.
