The proposed studies will test the hypotesis that improved glucose tolerance is the mechanism underlying rapid effect of gastric bypass on sleep and sleepiness. Patients undergoing briatric surgery will be studied during two separate 8-day inpatient admissions, one before surgery and one after surgery.
