TOURS OF THE FACILITY FOR INTERESTED LOCAL GROUPS AND SCHOOLS

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. Our Research Resource is well known in the local community as a facility for unique, high-technology biological research. Administrators of the University and educators from local area schools often request permission to tour the facility. Each tour lasts approximately 45 minutes and often involves demonstrations of the microscopes and the image processing computers. Last year, we gave tours through our facility to three different groups. These consisted of one group of high school students from the summer program "Upward Bound", one group of university students from an electron optics class, and one group of high school freshmen.
