This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. ABSTRACT A project with Joachim Frank's ribosome group focuses on the functional dynamics of the ribosome during translation. Dr. Xabier Agirrezabala in Dr. Frank's lab is working with Dr. M¿ns Ehrenberg's group (see project C-1) for design of experiments with suitable specimens. The substrates for this project are available in very small amounts and this problem has hindered progress on this project; efforts to synthesize fluorescent substrates are underway in the Ehrenberg lab.
