英文摘要
This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effect of light to keep the biological clock synchronized to a 24-hour sleep/wake schedule. The results of this study could lead to the development of new treatments for sleep disturbances commonly reported by older people. This work could have a profound impact on the health, productivity and safety, not only of older individuals, but also of other groups with a high prevalence of insomnia, such as shift workers and astronauts in space flight.
