CHAVI 012 - MUCOSAL AND INNATE IMMUNE RESPONSES AND VIRAL RESERVOIRS IN TISSUES

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. Purpose: This study is being done to study mucosal and innate immune responses and viral reservoirs in tissues and cells during Acute HIV-1 Infection. Participants: Participants will consist of 100 subjects with Acute HIV-1 infection, about 20 with established HIV-1 infection, and about 30 HIVuninfected participants. Procedures (methods): The study will obtain cells from each of the 3 groups for analysis by using leukapheresis, endoscopy, and bone aspirates. Not all 3 groups will undergo all testing procedures.
