ESTABLISHMENT OF A LIVER SERUM AND TISSUE BANK

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. The purpose of this study is to view and analyze information from medical records that might help us understand liver disease that leads to transplantation, help in the development of treatment for these diseases, and provide a way to evaluate patient care. Another purpose is to obtain blood and liver tissue removed during the time of organ transplantation, liver resection, or other surgery involving the pancreaticobiliary tract to be used for future research testing.
