A RANDOMIZED, MULTI-CENTER COMPARATIVE TRIAL OF TACRALIMUS WITH STEROIDS

This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The institution listed is for the Center, which is not necessarily the institution for the investigator. This is a phase 2, multi-center, open-label, randomized, parallel group design trial. 130 kidney transplant subjects will be enrolled and will participate in the study for three years. The purpose of this research study is to evaluate an alternative post-kidney transplant treatment protocol which does not include steroids due to the high rate of morbidity associated with chronic steroid use.
