This subproject is one of many research subprojects utilizing the resources provided by a Center grant funded by NIH/NCRR. The subproject and investigator (PI) may have received primary funding from another NIH source, and thus could be represented in other CRISP entries. The purpose of this research is to study the influenza vaccine in the kidney transplant population by measuring their antibody response to the standard trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine as compared to healthy controls. Secondly, the goal is to document the burden of influenza infection and other viral respiratory pathogens in this population utilizing a surveillance program.
