Growth chambers for transgenic plant studies

Studies with transgenic plants form a vital aspect of research conducted by plant biologists interested in understanding the function of various genes.  Such an understanding leads to increased knowledge about plant growth and development and will enhance our capability to produce more robust, higher producing plants for use as food, feed and in producing bioproducts including biofuels.  These studies using transgenic plants require the use of chambers where the temperature, light and humidity may be controlled.  This application to NSERC is made to obtain funds to purchase three such controlled environment growth chambers for transgenic plant research.
