A trustworthy reservoir heterogeneity characterization has a direct impact on the reserve development process and is the desire of field reservoir engineers. This research tries to characterize the reservoir heterogeneity through integrating static/dynamic information of multiple wells using 2D/3D semi-analytical flow models to be developed. The end products of this research have manifold field applications. Traditional idealized assumptions such as homogeneous and isotropic reservoir properties, uniform large scale fault, and formation structure, etc. are reasonable in terms of the simplicity of the solution and the real-time field application. But doing so also prevents us from further understanding the reservoir characteristics. The proposed 2D/3D semi-analytical flow models will be developed based on the application of mass conservation and Darcy's law; the derived differential equation will be solved using the source and sink function method for each part of the reservoir.  Then static and dynamic information of multiple well responses will be integrated to accomplish a better reservoir heterogeneity characterization. It is expected that this methodology can be applied to integrate information from geology study, Geostatistics mapping, well testing and well logging. This research tries to apply the 2D/3D semi-analytical models to integrate static/dynamic information of multiple wells; thus honors the value of well testing and offers an accurate way to couple geological/geostatistical models with flow models. It will provide a new perspective and a powerful tool to conduct reservoir characterization in Canada. It is likely that this fundamental research will promote further Joint Industry Project (JIP).
