英文摘要
The research topics described in more detail in the proposal are summarized below. 1.  A Combined Model for Static and Metadynamic Recrystallization.  A single model covering both mechanisms will be developed in association with Australian colleagues M. Barnett and P.D. Hodgson.  This will simplify the modeling of rolling load in industrial mills. 2.  Modeling the Kinetics of Static and Metadynamic Recrystallization.  In collaboration with Drs. E. Poliak and A. Najafizadeh, an approach will be developed permitting the effect of interstand softening to be predicted when work hardening is being accumulated due to incomplete recrystallization. 3.  Variant Selection in Deformed Austenite.  A model that accounts for the texture components that appear after the transformation of deformed austenite is being improved by the use of EBSD (electron backscatter diffraction) techniques. 4.  Transformation Characteristics of Meteorites.  Meteorites cool very slowly during their passage through the solar system.  The characteristics of the phase transformation that takes place under these conditions will be determined so as to resolve some issues regarding the orientation relationships that apply under these conditions. 5.  Coarse-Grained Superplasticity in Al-Mg Alloys.  Although superplasticity is usually associated with fine-grained materials, it can also be produced in coarse-grained metals under particular conditions.  The mechanisms responsible for this unusual effect are being studied with a view to determining the possibility of industrial application. 6.  Fundamentals of the Physical Metallurgy of Magnesium Alloys.  The twinning and fracture behavior of Mg alloys is being studied under various conditions of industrial interest.  Of particular importance are the effects of strain path and temperature during forming operations.
