84% of women who withdraw from assisted reproductive therapy without success do so because they lack of sufficient quality oocytes. We discovered novel RNA transcripts which do not encode protein sequences, but do have functional roles in regulating the development and hormone responses of ovarian follicles. This research will define the mechanisms by which these RNA transcripts influence fertility and investigate how this can be applied in therapies to improve reproductive health.
