英文摘要
The submerged caves on the Yucatan coastline of Quintana Roo, Mexico are a network of passages and sink holes that have evolved over Quaternary sea-level cycles and have come under increased pressure due to encroaching urbanization. We know little about the evolution of these caves systems; most studies have focused broadly on cave passage shape and development, climate indicators from stalactites, water chemistry and circulation, etc. with little research focussing on developing a proxy for reconstructing environmental trends in the cave passages themselves.
