A robust model comprising pyrolysis of polymeric material coupled with gas combustion will be developed to predict the burning behaviour of expanded polystyrene insulated sandwich panels. These models will provide an effective design tool for fire safety engineering design and the assessment of a wide range of polymeric materials in fire conditions.
