项目摘要
Although recognizing faces is seemingly effortless and nearly instantaneous, the steps that it requires are extremely complex. The current research will examine in a detailed manner how our brain processes faces, which is the critical information that the brain relies on to perceive a face, and how the brain deals with ambigous facial information, such as the well-know paintings by G. Arcimboldo, the Italian painter from the Rennaissance. We propose in this research program to track down the footsteps of the spatio-temporal neural events underlying the "building up" process of a face representation in the brain.
