The proposed equipment is an integrated package of capture, display/projection, and storage technologies that will enable significant research in the key research and knowledge dissemination areas of the Screen Industries Research and Training (SIRT) Centre, a division of Sheridan College's Applied Research. It will allow for both capture of high quality 2D and stereoscopic 3D image sequences for research purposes in a multitude of projects, and for their projection/display at a 4K digital cinema level. This is the highest quality of image resolution currently available on commercial digital cinema cameras and will allow SIRT to carry out extensive research into these technologies. The projection system can also be used for 2K projection and other formats depending on the research needs.
