英文摘要
Metal and ceramics are often used in combination in numerous technologies, yet the interactions both of liquid and solid metals with ceramics are often poorly understood. In the long term the proposed research aims at developping a more complete understanding of basic issues that exist in materials processing and the relevance of liquid metal wetting parameters (interfacial reactions, thermodynamics of interfaces, microstructure and liquid chemistry) in general and, specifically, on aluminum foam fabrication. An outgrowth of this is to initiate and develop a program of research on ceramic foams for biomedical applications.
