This application seeks funding to build a small-scale experimental platform for GPU computing. This experimental platform will be used to explore middleware support for hybrid, massively parallel computing architectures. Particularly, the research program focuses on the advances required to reduce the complexity of developing applications targeting hybrid, GPU-based computing platforms and to improve their efficiency and reliability, and reduce their energy footprint.
