Geolocation on the Internet is becoming a key technology in many applications. This project will study a widely used API that helps browsers in geolocation. The W3C geolocation API provides a means of standardized communication between a Location-Based Service (LBS) and a browser, which allows the LBS to recognize the location of the device where the browser operates whenever the LBS requests. This project will study issues related to the operation, privacy, and security of this API. This study will be of great value to industrial applications because it increases the understanding of this widely used API.
