英文摘要
The SNO+ experiment is under construction and major installations will be completed by early 2013. Canadian SNO+ groups at Queen's, Alberta, Laurentian, SNOLAB and TRIUMF are heavily involved in fabrication and installation. In the near future, activities will turn to detector commissioning and Canadian groups will also play a lead role in the data analysis. Most of the capital equipment funding for SNO+ is provided by the CFI award (with in-kind contributions from the Provinces of Ontario and Alberta, as well as from Queen's University and the University of Alberta). There are a few small equipment items that are needed that were not anticipated during the proposal of the CFI project. A small Category 1 RTI (Subatomic Physics) request to NSERC will ensure that the SNO+ project will not miss fiscal 2012 project targets. The main science objectives for the equipment in this request are: world-leading neutrino physics studies with low energy solar neutrinos and a competitive neutrinoless double beta decay search.
