NSERC industrial research chair in mining life cycles

The Yukon College NSERC Industrial Chair position will support the mining industry, a key sector in the Yukon's economy through a dedicated resource at the Yukon Research Centre, Yukon College. Building on existing strengths, partnerships and planned investments, Yukon College will be a leader in mining which is of strategic priority and growth in the Yukon. The Centre will develop solutions for companies across core aspects of the mining life cycle, with a focus on progressive and final reclamation of disturbed land under northern conditions, and water management and water treatment under northern conditions. The chair position is fully supported by the Yukon Mining Research Consortium, which comprises Alexco Resources, Capstone Mining Corporation, Yukon Zinc, and one advanced mining development stage company, Victoria Gold Corporation.
