英文摘要
Many of the new technologies involve devices that are small and sometimes extremely small. These devices are in use and will be invented to use in many areas of our lives, but most notably the area of medicine and other biological applications. Liquids are usually present in these tiny devices, or transported through them. The knowledge of the behavior of liquids and sometimes gases in small and extremely small devices is the subject of this research. Advances in our knowledge in this area will lead to better, more efficient and useful microdevices in biomedical and other industrial and processing applications.
