The study of star formation is quickly maturing. Stars form within regions of dense molecular gas and are enshrouded at the earliest stages within this prenatal material, allowing observations only at infrared to radio wavelengths. My research investigates three aspects of star formation: (1) the formation of structure within molecular clouds, (2) the collapse of prestellar cores to protostars and circumstellar disks (and subsequently to planets), and (3) the formation and evolution of the molecular clouds themselves.
