项目摘要
The need to understand and predict the often-complex impacts of anthropogenic perturbations on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems has lead to the emerging and interdisciplinary field of environmental modelling. The primary objective of the proposed research is to predict the impacts of sulphur and nitrogen deposition on terrestrial and aquatic systems. More specifically, research will focus on the development and application of critical load and dynamic biogeochemical models to predict the response of ecosystems to changes in anthropogenic emissions of sulphur and nitrogen. The research will emphasise state-of-the-art modelling as a tool for environmental management to support ecosystem integrity.
