Sunlight is the most abundant source of renewable energy on Earth, offering a clean, free, and sustainable alternative to fossil fuel-based power. Photovoltaic or solar cell technology, which can convert sunlight into electrical energy, has received increasing interest from both the academic and industrial research communities over the last several years. PowerStick.com is a Canadian company that specializes in manufacturing portable electric chargers that harness readily available solar energy for electronics applications, such as cellphones and tablets. The company has developed a range of portable charging products driven by solar cells, including the Powertrip, PowerBinder and the PowerBinder Mini.
