英文摘要
Rebel Farms is a vertical farming company based in Ottawa, Ontario. They use a specialized bioponic growing system to
grow leafy green vegetables indoors. This bioponic system controls the lighting cycles, water delivery, and nutrient delivery in order to grow the vegetables in an organic environment. Rebel Farms has partnered with Professor Jeffrey Smith at
Carleton University to help optimize their bioponic growing recipes in order to maximize the nutrient content in their products.
Professor Smith is the Director of the Carleton Mass Spectrometry Centre, an analytical research centre in the department
of chemistry, and has extensive experience in the analysis of complex samples using mass spectrometry. Dr. Smith and his
research team will identify and quantify specific nutrients found in leafy green vegetables produced by Rebel Farms, and
advise the company on how to alter their growing recipes in order to ensure that Ontario consumers are getting the
healthiest possible products on the market.
