Over the past 15 years, we have developed an image guided navigation system for neurosurgery known as IBIS. During planning, preoperative data (e.g., MRI, CT, fMRI, DTI, PET, MRA, CTA) are used together to generate 3D models of the patient's anatomy (e.g., cortical surface, brain structures, blood vessels), functional regions and target pathology to help the surgeon plan the optimal approach and the intervention.
