英文摘要
The rare earth elements (REEs) are the group of 17 chemical elements, including lanthanides and scandium and yttrium. Based on their location in the periodic table they classify in light REEs (with atomic no. 57-62) and heavy REEs (with atomic no. 63-71). REEs are becoming more and more important in the industrial shift to a green and low-carbon economy, particularly due to their crucial role in permanent magnets, lamp phosphors, rechargeable nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) batteries, fluid cracking catalysts (FCC), polishing powder, glass additives, ceramics and other uses.
