Magnetic refrigerators have many advantages over conventional gas based systems. Australia relies heavily on cooling and refrigeration for the home, office and transport. This project will design materials that exhibit a large magnetic cooling effect; this will aid progress towards development of practical applications of magnetic refrigeration.
