Triangle Kitchen Ltd. (Triangle) is a leading Canadian manufacturer of high quality cabinetry products andaccessories. Driven by the strong housing market and the excellent reputation it secured in this industry, demand for Triangle's products is currently surging. As a result, Triangle's production facility with its classicalworkshop layout, despite sizable investment in equipment and systems, is unable to fulfill its incoming orderswithin its target threshold of 4 weeks. The objective of this project is to assist Triangle in developing andimplementing advanced facility layout techniques that are specially tailored towards its conditions andrequirements in order to maximize the utilization of its resources, reduce/eliminate wasteful processes andincrease productivity. We will also develop and implement suitable approaches for measuring the currentproduction capacities at Triangle. The outcome of the research will be very beneficial to Triangle, and the firmhas the expertise and capability needed to use and apply these results.
