英文摘要
The renewed AVITOX Chair proposes a pioneering and distinctive research program that will investigate in birds the dietary and non-dietary sources, biotransformation, and exposure-related health impacts of priority emerging contaminants for which no global regulations exist despite their massive usage worldwide. The proposed research will provide new knowledge on the fate and toxicity of novel chemicals in the environment that may ultimately have an impact at the regulatory level to protect sensitive ecosystems and wildlife health in Canada and internationally. Furthermore, it represents a unique student training opportunity in novel aspects of ecotoxicology, spatial ecology, bioenergetics, analytical chemistry, and endocrinology.
