英文摘要
The research will use state-of-the-art non-invasive brain imaging techniques to study basic mechanisms of attention and memory. Perception, selective attention, and encoding into memory all take place in less than 1 second. The Chair will develop new paradigms and measures to track these brain mechanisms with a fine temporal resolution using EEG and MEG recordings to capture the temporal dynamics of attention and memory using both event-related and oscillatory measures. NIRS and fMRI will help to localize sources of brain activity. This work will help to understand how, when, and where attention and working memory operate in the human brain.
