英文摘要
Chemical Processes in the Atmosphere V: The long term research objective of this research proposal is to elucidate the relative importance of chemical processes in the formation of gases and aerosols that have health, air quality and climate implications. In addition, our goal is to develop and apply new methods to the top-down measurement of “real world” anthropogenic emissions of Greenhouse Gases and other combustion emissions (SO2, NOx) to the atmosphere. In particular, we will be developing new methods and apply these methods for measurements of the emissions from large sources such as oil and gas facilities in Western Canada, landfills in Ontario and large ships that operate in populated areas. Finally we will continue our research into the measurement of chemical radicals and radical precursors and their vertical distribution in the lowest portion of the troposphere, as these species dominate the chemical processes occurring in the atmosphere.**
