The Internet of things (IoT) is redefining the way we interact with digital surroundings. Owing to IoT, smart world will become a reality. IoT networks provide connectivity to a massive number of devices with highly diverse requirements. Each device optimizes different key-performance-indicators, which makes the current ad hoc radio resource management approaches with the existing security solutions insufficient. The long-term objective of this program is developing a novel and intelligent framework for radio resource management for the next generations of IoT networks, taking into consideration massive connectivity and security concerns. Innovative solutions for random-access channel, security-aware, and intelligent resource management approaches will be explored. The research program will also provide leading-edge training for graduate students.
