Risks to the privacy and security of the information carried on wired and wireless networks and risks to these networks themselves are matters of serious concern to Canadian citizens, corporations, and government. Dr. Ghorbani's research program on the Science of Cybersecurity will focus on enabling the development of cybersecurity solutions for the evolving data-intensive cyber domain by focusing on the value and meaning of security data. A spectrum of techniques will be developed that support security application developers in their quest to build intelligence-driven security solutions and to help cybersecurity stakeholders detect malicious threats before they can cause harm.
