Canada 150 Research Chair in Biophysics

The research program will establish an International Center for Hydrodynamics and Solution based Biophysics at the University of Lethbridge that will focus on the following thematic areas:1. Serve the Canadian and foreign research communities with cutting edge instrumentation, experimental design and data analysis for analytical ultracentrifugation (AUC) experiments. This will establish new national and international research collaborations with Lethbridge.2. Continue the 25+ year development of the UltraScan biophysical analysis software for hydrodynamic experiments in AUC, small angle X-ray and neutron scattering, and hydrodynamic bead modeling, and the further worldwide expansion of the UltraScan LIMS infrastructure.3. Train the next generation of biophysicists in biomolecular and biomedical interaction analysis, material science and polymer chemistry applications.
