项目摘要
The central long-term objective of the chair is to solve the key problems limiting the use of infrared vision in multipolar civilian applications. Three research axis are planned with important and unique progresses expected on: * image capture (ex: mobile approaches using robot and drones for indoor uses, Tera-Hertz, low-cost imagers connected to IoT), * image interpretation (ex: quantitative interpretation of infrared images including data fusion, access to partial data and thermal modeling) for use in * diversified activities such as: Thermal/Infrared NonDestructive Testing (ex: new composite material inspection), security/surveillance (ex: biometric applications), environmental deployment (ex: surveys of wild animal behaviors), animal science (ex: monitoring for better livestock production practices), cultural heritage (ex: understanding/maintaining from infrared surveys) and other new fields. Graduate students will be involved. Results will be disseminated in important national, international forums. Relationship with industry will contribute to Canada economy.
