I develop comprehensive, integrated assessment, models of global change dynamics and policy interventions. My methodology involves drawing from different branches of the social and natural sciences and quantifying all uncertainties relevant to decision-making. The social and technical processes of the Industrial Revolution have raised the worlds population tenfold, converted over 3% of the earths landmass to urban form and pushed atmospheric CO2 by 40% above its pre-industrial level. What will we need to do in order to shape the next 300 years? The proposed work will inform the technical, social and financial aspects of transition to a low carbon economy.
