英文摘要
This research program addresses an urgent need to modernize human health risk assessment of environmental chemicals to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and reduce the large numbers of animals required for toxicological testing. The main objective is to develop and deploy approaches that quantify how toxic chemicals can modulate the function of genes or damage genetic material (ie, genomics), and use this information to predict toxicological effects in humans. The program bridges basic and applied sciences, bringing together the research and regulatory communities in academia and government to advance regulatory processes and decision-making.
