The proposed Market Assessment project is for conducting viable market analysis for our recently developed Precision Pattern Antibody Microarray (PPAM) technology. Multiplexed bioassays are required for many applications, such as cancer biomarker discovery and drug screening. However, existing multiplexed assays suffer from high cost, inflexibility, and low reproducibility. Hence, we developed PPAM as a convenient and low-cost method for performing reproducible multiplexed bioassays to overcome these limitations. The proposed project will obtain essential data, such as the potential market size, applications, potential customers and their buying habits, how much the customers would like to pay, and competitions. The data will help us determine the next steps towards commercializing this technology, e.g., starting a new company or to licencing the PPAM technology to an existing company. In this project, the graduate student will also be trained to conduct the market assessment and have opportunities to interact with potential stakeholders and industry experts.
