Dr. van Anders is a leader in feminist bioscience and sex research, with an award-winning research program that spans the natural, social, and health sciences to the arts and humanities. Having innovated the field of social neuroendocrinology, Dr. van Anders’ future work will ask ground-breaking questions, including how gendered experiences modulate testosterone, how testosterone responds to perpetrating marginalization, and why certain sexual phenomena alter hormones and immunity. With the creation of Sexual Configurations Theory, Dr. van Anders’ future work will explore how sexual and gender minority and majority experiences can be better conceptualized and understood, in science – and our lives.
